1724 requests to regulate have arrived at the Ministry of the Interior

lavoro di cura

Total requests sent to the Ministry of the Interior: 1724.
- Revoked expulsion decree: irregular foreign citizens who have already been the subject of an expulsion decree, and for which a request for regulation has been presented, cannot be expelled before this procedure has been concluded (art. 1-ter comma 8 of the decree law 78/2009 converted into law n. 102 of the 3/08/2009). Therefore it is not necessary to apply for revocation or suspension of the provision, which cannot temporarily be performed. Furthermore, in accordance with comma 12 of art. 1-ter of the decree law 78/2009, if a stay contract is stipulated and a stay permit is issued, the already suspended expulsion decree becomes ineffective and cannot be carried out.

- Procedure regarding the Sportello Unico: those employers who supplied an email address in their application will be convened first. If there is no email address it can be sent to the Prefettura di Prato at the following email address: cristina. tanini@interno.it

- Travel abroad for those foreigners who have applied for regulation: a recent circular from the Ministry of the Interior, dated 2/10/2009, states: “the position of the foreign citizen applying for regulation cannot be assimilated with that of persons who have entered Italy with a regular entrance visa for the purposes of work, or those persons waiting for a renewal of the stay permit”. Therefore, whoever goes abroad could be sent back at the border. It is therefore advisable for all foreign citizens awaiting completion of the procedure to remain in Italy until the procedure has been completed.

The Sportello Unico and URP advise citizens to wait for the notice to appear, which should not take more than a few months to arrive (about 100 appointments a week are made) and not go frequently to ask for information.
